"I was the Outreach Chair for the Sandy FSA a couple of years ago and I learned so much. I wanted to share one of my most memorable experiences. In 2008, I organized my second "pen placement outreach." This is when we order a bunch of pens with the "It's about love" logo and the Sandy information on it then we get volunteers to drop off a bunch of pens to OBGYN's and women's centers around the valley (we even dropped some off at the Planned Parenthood.) One of my own assigned locations to drop off pens was the Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City. This was significant for me because just a year later I would be in this same hospital watching our third precious adopted baby being born and eventually take him home. Was this a coincidence? It may be. But I was just so grateful to have had the opportunity to reach out to the public about this beautiful, amazing adoption process and I believe the impact of that service blessed my little family forever. I know that everyone is extremely busy but I firmly believe that everyone needs to get involved with FSA - not only to appreciate the work that is being done on your behalf and to learn so much more about the whole adoption system but also to bless the lives of your own families."
August's FSA meeting is this Thursday, August 4 7:30pm at the Sandy LDS Family Services office. Come join us if you want to find out more about FSA or would like to get involved!
